Can I find homework help on the Internet? Q: My daughter has been getting low grades in the sixth grade. I try to help her, but I get frustrated, because I only finished the 8th grade. I got her a computer to learn on, but I guess we got sidetracked with games and chat. Can you lead us in the right direction for help in math and other studies? A: There are several excellent Internet sites for homework help. Here are two comprehensive ones.
The Internet is a wonderful resource for homework support. However, your daughter will continue to need your supervision, recognition of accomplishments, and your personal interest in her studies. Attend teacher conferences and educate yourself about your child's curriculum and study requirements. When you have a chance, read from some of her texts, ask her questions, and let her educate you about what she's learning. Have you considered returning to school yourself? Most communities offer adult education courses in academic subjects, recreation, personal finance, and more. When children see their parents absorbed in their studies, they often study harder themselves. It's never too late to go back to school. Please send questions or comments to bbruno@snet.net.
