Your comments:
"None of the Above - Weather." Art, Lebanon
"You didn't give the option of 'documentaries.' Certainly this would not necessarily fall into the Reality TV category, would it?" C.J.B., Pomfret Center
"I'm disappointed with sitcoms this year. Not very well written. All seem to have same type of storylines and no well thought ideas." Smokey, Willington
"With me it will be cartoons. Especially Japanese Anime." C.Y., Fairfield
"You left out categories like 'sci-fi' or 'historical.' Just like any survey it is only as good as the questions asked and how they are asked." I.J., West Haven
"If you had listed 'Weather' or 'Cooking Shows' I would have picked one of those. I hesitate to lump them in with reality shows since I DO NOT watch Survivor or the like. I would like to know what categories the large number of 'None of the Above' people were thinking of since it was the third largest category." Sue, Shelton
"I love TV, i don't watch much but i wach everything! There is no choice saying 'all of the above!'" Jules, Storrs
"Why have you emphasized the network-type programs. Where are subjects like history, travel, science and home & garden? It would appear that your choices were selected by a teenager." R.K., Monroe
"I basically don't have very much time for TV during the week days but I mostly enjoy things like the Discovery Channel, Animal Planet, History Channel. I do watch one or two sitcoms a week but i prefer television stations with informative programming. (NOT PBS programming) " D.D., Sherman
"TV programming is this country as a marketing tool is racist and demeaning to people of color, particularily females. It's bent towards violence, sex and horror is demeaning and probably underlies many social ills of America's youth, the plundering of the environment, and the materialistic greed so pervasive in this economy." W.E.T.P., West Hartford
"CARTOONS RULE!" Joe, Lisbon
"'None of the above' was the only logical choice since you seem to have ignored most of what public television and non-traditional cable has to offer. There are many of us in the 'public' who prefer those other venues, including cable stations like Bravo, A&E, Ovation, etc., that offer more than the typical entertainment and thumbnail news programs available on the networks." P.D., Danbury
"History Channel and Animal Planet are our favorites. Why not in your list?" A., Stonington
"I like violent stuff! I like violent shows, but that doesn't mean I'M violent!" J.C., East Lyme
"I like the news the best because i like to know whats going on in the world. All of these other shows i think corrupt my mind. Don't get me wrong not all of them are bad but most of them these days are corruptive whether through sex, violence, drugs, and so on." Keith, Lisbon
"I really don't care for TV. It grates on my nerves. My kids become total zombies and I think it's a terrible waste of time unless you're sick and you watch something without sex or violence. Education seems to have taken a back seat to whats important to our children. The only good thing is when you remember who's in charge. The mighty power of the finger - behold now it's on, now it's off. Ta-Da. Then you have there attention, and its your time to make the best of it." Sam, Middlefield
"I am repulsed by the vulgar content of television. The language, suggestive movements and the attitude of programing is changing the behavior of our children. You see 10 year old girls behaving suggestively. These are not the innocent children of yesteryear. I limit what I watch, but many mothers are working and do not know what their children are watching, and kids take their cues from television. How can we create such a poluted enviroment and expect children to be responsible citizens. We have abased our future citizens." J.R.L., New London
