Your comments:

"There was no option for 'no' as an answer. I love having all my kids home. I am unable to home school them. I hate sending them to state required daycare disguised as learning . The teachers do their best, but really the classrooms are out of control. I wish i was more confident about homeschooling as my kids are more protected as to who they are friends with, etc." B.S., Torrington

"I chose 'No, I love summer vacation' even though I am a 30-something adult. Summer is a special time of the year, especially for the kids. As an adult it is very apparent just how short and precious the time we have as children really is. It goes fast and if we don't stop and enjoy it before you know it it is gone. I love having my kids around during the summer. The school year is very hectic and there really is not a lot of time for them to relax and just be kids. Of course I value a good education and stress that a lot to them. Two and a half months a year of just being 'free' is good for them. It DOES go fast ... it seems like only a few months of time since my oldest was born. She is 9 now. Let the kids be kids and if possible. Slow your adult lives down a little and share some summer time with the kids." D.D., Sherman

"It's the MOST wonderful time of the YEAR." M., Cobalt

"What will be nice with school starting again is kids not riding their bikes in the middle of the road or walking in the middle of the road and flipping off the drivers. Kids do not have the same supervision as we did as kids, and I would rather get stuck behind a school bus than get stuck behind a unrespectful child." L.J.N., East Haddam

"You should have had a box on the school question saying, 'No, I don't like getting stuck behind the buses!'" L.B., Deep River

"When I was growing up, school always started the day after the Haddam Neck Fair ended (Labor Day) providing a bittersweet end to the summer. What is the sense in getting the kids in Wednesday for 1/2 week of distracted school? They should wait and let summer play out to the end." D.3., Haddam Neck
