Generally speaking, any working modem should be able to connect to SNET Internet. Practically speaking, many users with modems operating at speeds below 14.4k/second report that their Internet experience is slow and unsatisfactory. A majority of SNET subscribers have at least a 28.8k modem. Though SNET does not endorse any particular modem or modem manufacturer, it is worth noting that SNET Internet equipment is all 3Com/U.S. Robotics. The SNET network is 100 percent compatible with the newest V.90 (56k) modem standard. For more information on 56k modems, please see our 56k modem FAQ or our V.90 modem FAQ. |
